Gastric Bypass Surgery Information

i need to know anything and everything about the surgery..i know what it is obviously lol i just want to know the basics..how long is recovery can you smoke while recovering..what are the good and bad things of it..side effects you know..just anything about it..and if anyone had it what was your result

many pt in Fort Collins had bypass surgery with excellent results. many were done lapracopically. immed results were dec bp and diabetic sx gone, meaning rare to none insulin use. Many were very motivated and had been to group counseling classes pre op. When they returned to see me after 6 mo, I didn’t recognize them, at all! Had a new chance on life. Some were last resort with morbid obesity. Smoking is just bad anyway and hard to quit. some needed panniculectomies for removal of loose skin, or had breast implants. most exercised. some had nausea post op, some had "leaks" that needed immed surgical repair. some died. Most of them were elated and relieved. Extensive counseling about diet, vitamins and limited food intake as the stomach is about 1 oz size post op. none had food cravings and most were psychologically intact. My friend had it done, after a year, she is still coping with mind/body size. she is smaller, but her mind tells her to go to the large size clothing section. She looks great!
