There are two types of gastric bypass surgeries: Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RGB) and extensive gastric bypass. RGB is the most common type. Money For Post Gastric Bypass Surgery(body lift/contour)?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: gastric bypass surgery information

I had gastric bypass surgery in 2005. I had abdominoplasty but I still need more surgery. My insurance wont cover it and I was wondering is there a company or foundation established for Bypass patients to apply for grant money to have safe surgery? I lost 170 lbs. and as you can imagine the sagging skin to prove it. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

I work at a plastic surgery center that mainly concentrates on post-bypass body contouring. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any group that helps with the cost of surgery, besides a breast reduction or abdominoplasty, which most insurances will cover, all the rest of the surgeries we do end up being paid for by the patient. There are a lot of companies that offer low-interest loans for elective medical procedures, but thats about it…sorry I couldn’t help more!

How old must you be to obtain a gastric bypass surgery or plastic surgery?

Anyone who has had one, any information etc.. would be greatly appreciated :) Wondering what to expect, costs etc… Thanks

Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of bariatric surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your obesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her revision surgery for gastric bypass in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Does anyone know of any organizations that will pay for gastric bypass surgery for low income people?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: gastric bypass surgery information

any information would be greatly appreciated

No, there is no one that does these surgeries for free or any organization that pays for them that I have ever heard about. If you are really low income, you might qualify for medical insurance through your state which might cover the cost.

Pregnant after Open Gastric Bypass Surgery??

Posted by: admin  :  Category: gastric bypass surgery information

I had the bypass a little over a year ago…I was looking for information on pregnancy after an open gastric bypass surgery..?? internet excess to this question is running me in circles..??Please help!!

I would think that it would not affect the pregnancy. You should be fully healed. The baby would maybe push on your stomach but other then that should not interfere. I would speak to your doctor who did the surgery though, he may have some suggestions and my refer you to a nutritionist to help you get the proper nutrition for you and the baby as your eating very small doses of food and sometimes you may need to increase that to make sure the baby is getting enough.

I am looking for information from lap band or gastric bypass patients, i am considering surgery myself.?

For anyone who has had Lap Band surgery, advice on how you quit drinking with meals. Was it very difficult to follow the rules?

I had Gastric Bypass surgery about a year ago. I’ve lost 140 pounds and only have 40 more to go. I’ve had zero complications.

I never stopped drinking while eating. I mean, you can’t "chug" liquids, but my surgeon told me it was okay to SIP no more than one oz of fluid with a meal, so I have always done that. I like spicier foods and I found that I just couldn’t get through a meal without a little liquid to quench the fire on my tongue…lol… I usually drink milk with my meals to get in the extra protien, one ounce only. My surgeon said it was fine and I’ve had no issues because of it.
