If anyone who has had the surgery and they were over 200kg could you contact me and share your experiance please.
I had my gastric bypass surgery through Forerunners Healthcare Consultants in India I don’t regret it at all I had a baby since then and I’m still able to take the weight off so far i am very happy. The key is to use a reputable surgeon. You want to be carefully screened beforehand to make sure you are a good candidate. Since my surgery I can walk without getting tired, I can play with my son; I can walk down the street with my head held high. I feel pretty for the fist time in years. I was given another shot at life. The surgery is a tool and how well that tool works is up to you!!
I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would recommend to every one who is suffering from the same problems as I did before but I would urge anyone who is interested to seek the best surgeon possible and make the decision based on the surgeon’s recommendations and your own personal goals!! Make sure the reasons for the surgery are the right one. The surgery isn’t for someone who just "wants to be skinny". Do it for your health, for your life, for family. FOR YOU.

He weighs about 475. I know, big boy… Regardless, he saw a surgeon for gastric bypass surgery. The surgeon says that he wanted him to lose weight before the operation. They want him to get under 400lbs. My fathers blood pressure is perfect and always has been. His pulse and vitals are all normal. Here is my questions, 1st, he is too big for excersize, and the normal eat right and walk does not fit him. Now I have heard of many patients that where well over my dad’s weight having the gastric bypass done. Not to mention the guy ahead of him weighed over 700lbs and had the bypass done. So why would they want my Dad to lose weight on his own? Should I try to find another surgeon? His insurance would cover everything so that is not a problem, his health is great besides the weight. I just do not get it? He needs it desperately. Any help would be great.
why is unreasonable to expect him to show some restraint? Once he has the surgery his life is going to drastically change with what and how he eats. It just makes sense to expect him to start making a committment to change before surgery.

I want to get the gastric bypass but I need to get my Dr. to approve or refer me to a surgeon so that my insurance will pay. I am overweight and have medical problems but I am just starting with a new Dr. I have records from my other Dr.’s but I’m not sure what the insurance will be looking for…..Does anyone have any advice for me?
It would need to be documented that the surgery is medically necessary and there are no other less costly options. After that, the insurance will usually send you to a doctor of their choosing for a second opinion.

I had a nissen fundolipication and am now considering a roux-en-y. Will surgeons reverse the wrap for the bypass?
You’re talking about an elective operation reversing a medically necessary one, so it’s going to be difficult finding a surgeon cowboy enough to deal with the potential complications IMHO.
